flower buds on the trees... high heels... students who get excited about Shakespeare... Bob the goldfish... national poetry month... a plane ticket home for Easter... an afghan knit by my grandma on my bed... baseball season... Special K Vanilla Almond cereal... amazon.com... the ticking of my wall clock...

things i like about new jersey (so far)

-the sales tax at IKEA when i bought my bookshelf last week was 3.5%
-gas is around $1.55 a gallon and i can fill my tank for under $20 without ever getting out of my car (nj is all full service gas stations)
-i went to the ocean today :)
-"rush hour traffic" is equivalent to an off time of day in chicago
-parking RIGHT in front of my house
-laundry right outside my bedroom!
-cheaper everything
-diners, diners, diners
-trees! everywhere i drive, trees alongside
-small towns

today i'm thankful for...

memorial day, which means the beginning of summer... open windows and a nice breeze... new curtains... a clean apartment... flower boxes... new speakers for my computer... aveda hair products... flipflops... coworkers... countdowns to a cute boy... plans... time to read... green trees... ice cream... netflix... a used bike that's new to me... summer in chicago... summer... in chicago...

i used to post this all the time, and i think i should reinstate that habit. if nothing else, to remind me that i have lots of things to be thankful for.

afghans knit by my grandmas... free chocolate chip cookies from the cafe... cozy scarves... public transportation... extra tips when i work alone... wireless internet... a best friend only a phone call away... random visits with my sister... neighbors... red nail polish... new lotion... skinny jeans... puffy vests... vista print make your own calendars... new dvds... jobs i like... new opportunities...
