and now for something completely different

after my moment of weakness enjoying the snow in the city... today i went to ace hardware running some errands for work. i ended up in the bug repellent aisle buying ant traps since the office is next door to the donut shop. and strangely i was overcome by the scent of citronella. in a good way. reminded me of summer, and childhood, and all that is right in the world. of catching lightning bugs in the backyard, and sparklers, and riding bikes and big wheels til dark. and more recently, of wine coolers and board games on the deck, upstate ny mountainside bars, camping trips, and watching lightning storms from the safety of a screen in patio.

no matter how hard i try. i can't change it. i'm still a summer girl at heart.
